HEALTH chiefs in St Helens have published plans detailing how they intend to achieve foundation trust status.
The plan calls for partnership across the NHS but singled out St Helens and Whiston hospitals’ private finance initiative debt as roadblocks prevented success.
All trusts are required to achieve foundation trust status.
Chief executive Ann Marr said: “This plan provides a strategy to achieve Foundation Trust status and overcome the challenges ahead.
“The Trust remains committed to providing high quality patient care and we will work closely with our staff and partners to continue to improve local healthcare services.”
The full agreement was published on the trust’s website earlier this month at www.sthk.nhs.uk
