Popular stand-up comic Jason Manford is bringing his hugely successful new tour to St Helens.
The funnyman, who has performed several times in the town, has added another 18 dates to his First World Problems tour.
Manford, who hails from nearby Salford, has performed over 220 shows throughout the UK.
The show comes to the St Helens Theatre Royal on September 25.
He has been given a rave reviews by critics who have hailed his warm humour and natural rapport demonstrates his likeability and his popularity fully justifies extending the tour.
Jason said: “I have really been enjoying this show, the audiences have been absolutely fantastic and I love nothing more than making them laugh.”
Jason’s likeable charm and teasing, intelligent wit has won him an army of fans since he shot to stardom on TV as team Captain on Channel 4’s 8 Out of 10 Cats in 2007.
He has been constantly on the go since he was last on tour. After his opera singing turn saw him emerge the winner on Born To Shine (ITV1) Jason put his new found talent into practice joining Alfie Boe on tour.
This was followed by a well-received run in the critically acclaimed hit West End musical Sweeney Todd, starring Michael Ball and Imelda Staunton.
Jason hosted a brand new series on BBC One, A Question of Sport: Super Saturday throughout June 2014. He has enjoyed appearances on QI (BBC Two), Big Fat Quiz of the Year (Channel 4), and Comedy World Cup (Channel 4).
Stand up sets on ‘Live at the Apollo’ (BBC One), ‘Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow’ (BBC One) and ‘The Royal Variety Performance’ (ITV1, 2009) have all helped establish Jason as a nationally known comic, a position which made him the ideal host of ITV’s reality comedy competition, Show Me the Funny.
