A SPECIAL church service honouring every past and present service man and woman in St Helens will be held next month.

The service is being held to co-incide with the freedom of the borough ceremony due to take place at the town hall on the same day.

A special parade for servicemen and servicewomen will take place on Wednesday, April 18 from the Town Hall at 11.15am.

It will proceed on to the Parish Church for a service at 11.30am. Queen’s Park CE/URC primary school choir will sing at the service.

Members of the public are invited to attend the parade and service.

Some 20 units involved include the Royal British Legion.
