An Eccleston man has been charged with conning residents out of cash by claiming he’d repaired roof tiles without doing the work.
Darren Greenhalgh, of Higham Avenue, faces four counts of fraud by false representation. The 27-year-old indicated he would plead guilty when he appeared at St Helens Magistrates’ Court last week.
He was remanded on conditional bail to allow a pre-sentence report to be prepared. JPs heard one of Greenhalgh’s victim suffers from short-term memory loss. He is due to be sentenced on May 1.
