Sunny weekend afternoons are the perfect excuse to get the car out of the garage and out onto the road.

And people driving past The Stork pub in Billinge this afternoon (Sunday) could be forgiven for thinking they had stepped back in time - as the car park gleamed with classic cars.

Members of the St Helens Classic Car Association gathered to promote their club, which is gearing-up for this year’s show season.

MGs, Triumphs, Vauxhalls, Rovers and Morris Minors made up just some of the vehicles to admire on the car park, while enthusiasts took advantage of the opportunity to talk about their favourite subject.

The only requirement for joining the club is to ‘care a lot about cars in general,’ and the club meets every third Thursday of each month at The Stork.

Membership costs £12 per year plus a £5 joining fee, and anyone interested should email Stan or Joan Oakes at landstan2003@hotmail.com.
