A ST Helens schoolboy who was seriously injured in a car crash last month remains in hospital in a “serious but stable” condition.

The 11-year-old Cowley International College pupil was left fighting for his life after he and an 11-year-old girl were both knocked down by a blue BMW on Sunday, December 11.

Emergency crews were called to Prescot Road, near to the junction with Dunriding Lane, at about 6pm.

The girl’s condition was not life-threatening.

A police spokeswoman confirmed that the boy’s condition remained “serious but stable”. The BMW driver has been arrested and bailed on suspicion of driving while unfit through drugs.
