A ST Helens man suffered a broken jaw following a brutal early hours assault.
Police say the victim, a 29-year-old man, was attacked by two men who had asked him for a cigarette on Mount Pleasant Avenue, Parr, at about 1am on Sunday, June 23.
He was left with a badly broken jaw and had to undergo reconstructive surgery at Fazakerley Hospital in Liverpool.
The two men who attacked him are described as white, aged between 25 and 35 with dark hair and local accents.
They were both wearing dark clothing.
