Martin Robinson in Wigan Infirmary after was assaulted at Indiependence

A NIGHTCLUB-goer suffered a perforated bowel after being repeatedly kicked in the stomach while being ejected by two bouncers, it has been alleged.

While one of the men, Matthew Foy, held Martin Robinson, his colleague, Lucca Curri, punched him and he was thrown to the ground, claims Eric Lamb, prosecuting.

While he curled up into a ball to protect himself he was kicked and punched by the defendants outside Indiependence night club in Wigan.

The 23-year-old victim suffers from Crohn’s Disease and takes immunosuppressant drugs and consequently was prone to suffer a perforated bowel.

Curri, 37, of Acorn Street, Newton-le-Willows and Foy, 24, of Pilling Lane, Chorley, both plead not guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent on April 2 last year.

It is alleged the pair attacked Mr Robinson after they ejected his friend from the club.
