A book on condolence has been opened at Langtree Park for former Saint Steve Prescott, who died on Saturday.
Club officials have decided to site the book next to his Hall of Fame inductees profile in the south west corner of the stadium.
A Saints spokesman said: “It will be fittingly sited next to his Hall of Fame inductees profile in the South West Corner of Langtree Park.
“Fans can gain entry from the Keiron Cunningham statue side of the stadium and are also invited to leave tributes next to Steve’s mural too.
“The Book will remain in situ on Monday before moving to the stadium’s reception from Tuesday.”
The book of condolence will remain open for a week.
St Helens mayor Andy Bowden has also paid tribute to the rugby league legend, who died after a seven year battle with a rare form of stomach cancer.
“I was so sad to hear that Steve Prescott has passed away,” said Coun Bowden. “My thoughts are with his family and friends.
“Steve was a fantastic ambassador for St Helens, a tremendous role model and an inspiration to everyone.”
