ARE you looking after a relative’s or someone else’s child either on a long-term or short-term basis?

If so, you may be a private foster carer and St Helens Council wants to hear from you as it has a legal duty to complete an assessment to ensure that the place where the child is living is suitable and that you are getting the support and advice that you need.

Coun Alison Bacon (pictured), cabinet member for Children and Young People’s Services, said: “This is all about providing help and support to people who find themselves in this situation. Fostering is a vital service and people should know that they are not alone and that there is a major support network there for them.”
