DO you feel like dancing? St Helens is set to host one of the biggest dance events of the year, with thousands of people expected to flood into the town centre on Saturday, June 4 for the launch of Dance Live in Victoria Square.

High-profile headline acts will be taking centre stage, including Tobias Mead (Britain’s Got Talent finalist), MD Productions (Britain’s Got Talent), Dance Dynamix (Got To Dance), The Ginger Bread Man (Got To Dance) and Marquelle Ward (Winner of Dance X).

The family-friendly event also includes high-quality dance performances from Deborah Lister Dance Academy, Watch This Pace, Pop Skool, Stage Factory Dance School, Smoking Guns Line Dancing, Priority Dance Productions and El Ghawazee.

Deputy council leader Barrie Grunewald said: “We’re aiming to enhance the image and appeal of St.Helens for residents and visitors alike.

“Events such as Dance Live add a real vibrancy to the town centre, creating an enjoyable and stimulating experience for all ages.

“We’re sure the event will prove popular and generate an increased number of visitors which, in turn, will benefit town centre retailers and service providers and add to the economic success of the borough.”

The event will be staged between noon and 6pm.

Later in the evening St.Helens Town Hall hosts a special St.Helens Live event – the ‘El Ghawazee, Habibi and friends’ Eastern Dance and Music Concert. Tickets cost £6 (concessions £5), with under 18s free (subject to availability).
