JUNIOR schools across Merseyside are taking part in a competition to design a mosaic for the gardens of the seven new Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service Community Fire Stations being built.

The seven new stations are being built under the Government’s Private Finance Initiative (PFI), part of the largest fire station building project for UK Fire Services in history and the biggest construction programme of its kind in the North West of England.

The schools taking part in the project are St Mary’s Catholic Junior School, in Newton-le-Willows.
