ST Helens mayor Geoff Almond helped to congratulate winners and runners-up in St Helens Council’s Library Service creative writing competition.

The contest, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Newton-le-Willows, asked entrants to submit a piece of work under 500 words. A record 241 people entered one of four age categories.
