A swarm of bees were spotted in a St Helens farm. To celebrate National Insect Day Fir Tree Farm, in Kings Moss, held a fun and interactive day.

Ormskirk and Croston Bee Keepers performed a live demonstration and organised a false swarm trail through the woods for the young families.

Alec The Moth Man, a local leading insect expert, displayed specimen jars of live butterflies and moths, that he caught the night before and released them.

There was also guided tours round the woodland and organic orchard walks.
