Do you know a teacher who is truly inspirational? Then why not nominate them for the Inspirational Teaching award, sponsored by Carmel College.

We are looking for those teachers who go the extra mile, who engage with their students in a special way, and whose commitment is truly admirable.

This award recognises teachers who have made a significant contribution to the success of their students and provided an inspiration to children.

Last year’s winner was Miss Lane, from Haydock High School, who was described as a fantastic teacher, practitioner, mentor and Head of Department. The judges were impressed by her dedication to her students and to the school and called her ‘an enthusiastic and tenacious teacher’!

Carmel College Principal, Rob Peacock, said: “Teachers have a tremendous impact on the lives of the young people in their classes.

I am sure everyone can remember at least one teacher who made a real difference to their lives: someone who had the ability to inspire and enthuse students with a love of learning, someone who made them believe they could achieve. In my career I have been lucky to work with many people like this.

This category recognises the achievements of the many teachers who are talented, work extremely hard and are completely dedicated to those in their care.”
