THREE students from Billinge are exhibiting a real flair for design.
A curious combination of life-sized elephants, strange aliens and furry animals as visitors travelling through time and across continents feature in the new exhibition - entitled Flair - by Art foundation students at Winstanley College.
Course leader Sue Cook said: “We are really pleased to celebrate another highly successful year for the college’s foundation course in art and design, affiliated to the University of the Arts, London.
“For the 15th year running, the department has achieved results dramatically above the national average of 16 per cent distinction level, with 63 per cent managed to achieve this status.
“The current group of students, featuring fashion, textile and graphic designers, fine artists, animators, photographers and illustrators all celebrated their success in the college’s biggest exhibition of the year before going on to take up their places on degree courses next year.
“We are using the exhibition as a backdrop to our master classes, when we will be hosting workshops for 180 year 10 students from local schools.
“We are very proud of all the achievements made by the students, which is a real testimony to their energy and enthusiasm and of course, the dedication and commitment of all the staff.”
