CATCH one of the biggest bands in Britain, right on your doorstep.

Noah and the Whale have been signed up to headline the first of Haydock Park’s summer live music nights on Saturday night (April 28).

The band – who’ve had hits on both sides of the Atlantic – mix indie rock with folk sensibilities.

Their third studio album, Last Night On Earth, has been critically acclaimed and led to sell-out shows on both sides of the Atlantic.

A series of high profile festival appearances has made the band a big draw, and the five-piece – singer-songwriter Charlie Fink, violinist Tom Hobden, bassist Matt “Urby Whale” Owens, guitarist Fred Abbott and drummer Michael Petulla – enjoyed their biggest British tour to date in the autumn.

Other summer gigs scheduled for Haydock Park include Madness and STEPS.

Tickets – which include both the evening’s horse racing as well as the performance afterwards – are still available for purchase for this Saturday evening. The first horse race is at 5.55pm, with the finale at 8.25pm after which the concert begins.

Dickon White, Haydock Park’s managing director, said: “Haydock Park’s series of Saturday music nights after racing has got better year after year, and the crowds keep returning in ever bigger numbers. We are delighted that Noah & The Whale will be here for our first music night of the year.”

Bookings can be made online at www.haydock-park.co.uk, by telephone on 0844 579 3006 or from the racecourse.
