A St Helens actor is set to woo the ladies when he becomes the latest hunk on the Street.
Matthew Crompton has secured a starring role in Corrie as Dan Mason, the local womaniser who runs a chain of local betting shops.
He will enter the Street with renowned actor Jack Ellis on December 3, and the pair will play a father and son duo. They look set to stir up trouble as they tend to enjoy being on the wrong side of the law.

The 36-year-old, who hails from the Sherdley Park area in Sutton has had a string of successful roles since his Cowley Boys days.
A four-year stint as PC Sam Harker in The Bill ended in a towering inferno when the drama's police station, Sun Hill was blown up in 2002.

He has starred in various shows in breakfast TV, as well as Brookside, Heartbeat and Casualty.
His mum Anne, who works at St Helens Hospital said: "We are very proud of him but we are definitely his biggest critics. We don't hold back! It's the best way though.

"It is something he has always wanted to do and we are so pleased he has managed to make a successful living out of such a difficult career."
His dad George, housekeeper at the local hospital, is Matthew's biggest inspiration.

Anne said: "He does look up to us and we help to keep him on feet. We are his greatest fans though."
The accomplished actor will be working closely with Jack Ellis, best known for playing villainous warder Jim Fenner in ITV's Bad Girls.

In his new role he will continue to act less than honourably, for example by threatening to break Lloyd Mullaney's legs for not paying a debt.
Matthew now lives in a little village in Kent where he enjoys walking, swimming as well as meeting and catching up with friends. A regular on the London stand up circuit he now has a website with his friend, Dave Chapman, devoted to comedy.
