Two budding ballerinas from St Helens are just one pirouette away from becoming Young Dancer 2008.
Dominique Halsall, 13, and Natasha Agarwall, 11, have secured their places in the final of the Fonteyn Nureyev Young Dancers Competition.
In their impressive dancing displays last weekend the talented pair beat hundreds of others across the North
to make it to the final at the Bloomsbury Theatre in London.
In just three months, on April 13, the two young dancers will face the elite of the country as they battle it out to achieve an award that many dancers only ever dream of.
Both girls attend Elizabeth Hill School of Dance and Drama in Dentons Green. They go to ballet classes at least four or five times a week where they train for several hours.
Elizabeth Hill has worked with the two talented youngsters since they were just three years of age.
She said: "Both of them just love to dance. They are so enthusiastic and dedicated. When they come here they just dance and dance. Both girls have the perfect physique for this competitive sport and they have great potential.
"The Fonteyn Nureyev Young Dancers Competition is a very high profile contest and you have to be of a certain level to even enter it."
Natasha, a Merchant Taylors student, and Dominique, a Rainford High pupil, have extensive silverware from various competitions.
Dominique's proud mum, Sharon, of Kiln Lane, Eccleston, says that the only place her daughter wants to be is in dance school.
She said: "She loves it. She is always doing various competitions and festivals. My husband and I get more nervous than her. At the heats in Manchester for this competition he was so anxious he couldn't watch anymore and then he missed her name being read out.
"She just takes it all in her stride. It's a great social life for them all and she has met so many friends through her dancing. I just took her down when she was little and things have just grown from there."
They are now in training as they prepare for the final on April 13.
