My partner and I went this evening to the east orient buffet in St Helens. There wasn’t a decent selection of dishes, just the basics you would expect to find in any poor quality buffet.

The PLASTIC plates were GREASY, it was proper disgusting, and ridiculously small and cold.

In the restaurant it was incredibly hot, and the air con was off. There were flies flying all over our heads and food, it was really, really nasty.  And the same songs played every 5 minutes.

We had only heard and read bad reviews about this restaurant but we like to judge for ourselves so we decided to try it out.

We will NEVER EVER go back and we don’t recommend it to any one.

We had 2 weekend dinner buffet (although it was Friday) and a bottle of rose. We paid £27.95.

You get what you pay for. Oh we had to pay for tap water, so in the end we cancelled it.

The decoration was comfortable, but nothing spectacular.

The food quality was average in my opinion,  but my partner says above average. the meat was mostly dried, we had to constantly for the dishes to be brought out. The desserts were pretty standard and the service was beyond poor, they could benefit from some training.

We felt ignored and were left unattended throughout all our dinner experience.

If you are thinking of going there, just DON’T. Don’t waste your money, it’s not worth it. If you plan to go to any buffet in St Helens, make it to the The Chinese Buffet, as it is simply the best in merseyside.

Resuming- very poor dining experience, average food, pfff, disappointing, a waste of money and time. Just don’t go.

I usually love this Restaurant, the food is always lovely, but i went this week and after that, i wont be going again. I went with my daughter who is 8 and tall for her age, and when i sat down the manager told me that they have a hight policy and if he thought she was adult hight then i would have to pay adult price for her, ive never heard of this and been there and other buffet restaurants before and never had this said to me. He said that although he thought she was an adult hight he would charge me for a child this time. I was so annoyed but as my daughter likes this place i stayed for her.
Then when she finished her dinner, which by the way was no more than what an average 8 year old can eat (and being watched the whole time through our meal) she went to get desert. Because she wanted ice cream i had to go over and help her, then the manager came over to my table and nearly threw away my dinner, that i hadn't finished. He then came over and apologised and tried to hug me which i found really strange!!!
When we finished i went to the counter to pay on my card. He took the payment and give me back my card without so much as a thank you!
Terrible customer service, and to top it all off the food was no way up to the usual standard. A lot of it was cold and the meat really fatty!

i am a regular customer and i mostly visit at lunch times because i wrok nearby. I really did enjoy the food there before but i have been there again last week but the standard has changed so much it is unblievable. At lunch times there used to be plenty of choices for food and dessert but last week there was no dessert at all, and the food looked like as if they have been there a while, it is very dry and not hot enough. The toilets on the third floor is very filthy and looked as if it hasn't been cleaned for a while.

Well worth a visit. All you can eat, from Chinese, Indian, Thai. Good selection of food, up until 5 pm everyday the price is £6.20. There is a good selection of food and niice friendly atmosphere. You get a starter, main meal and dessert, and as much as you want.

I would recommend this restaurant for any occassion. Its centrally postioned in St Helens Town, near to car parks, bus stops and a taxi rank.

The price does go up after 5 pm each evening to £10, but it is still well worth the price.
