Thursday, June 21: St John The Baptist Church in St John Street, Earlestown, have a Lynk-Up Group for people in the community who may have lost a loved one and are perhaps feeling lonely or unable to cope. Come and have a cuppa in a friendly, relaxed and informal setting with others in the same situation.

saturday, june 23: New Street Methodist Church, Sutton, are holding a big breakfast morning from 10.30am. As well as the traditional full English breakfast, there will be a tombola, raffle, fancy goods and cake stalls.

Sunday, June 24: Billinge Churches hold their annual walk of witness. The procession will assemble at St Aidan’s School, London Fields, at 1.45pm. The walk will make its way to St Mary’s Church Field for a short service.

wednesday, june 27: Boardmans Lane Methodist Church, Parr, is holding a strawberry tea with music and stalls from 2pm to 3.30pm. Admission costs £3.

Thursday, June 28: St Aidan’s Mother’s Union next meets at the John Eddleston Centre at 7.30pm

friday, june 29: St Helens Parish Church, Church Square, is hosting a musical evening for Africa at 7.30pm. Tickets are £5 (children £2.50) on the door or call 753412.
