Another week on the comedy trail, but not before spending a lovely midweek with my family and friends in Centreparcs in Penrith.
Which is like a cacoon from the outside World unless you buy a newspaper or listen to the news. The Jon Venables news is impossible to ignore though. I think if you have kids, your sensitivity to the case is heightened.

It really boils my wee when you have stupid people like Children's Commissioner Maggie Atkinson, describing what they did as 'exceptionally unpleasant'.

An ingrowing toenail is unpleasant, Saints losing to Wigan is unpleasant...my stomach the morning after six pints and a kebab is exceptionally unpleasant, but torturing and murdering a two-year-old boy is sick and disgusting beyond comprehension. Stupid, out of touch with reality woman.

Thursday night, was Leeds again. I seem to be here every Thursday night, but I'm certainly not complaining. I spent a good 10 minutes before the show convincing opening act Stan Stanley that Centreparcs wasn't a holiday village under a massive dome.

Stan was brilliant, and really enjoyed himself. I spent my time on stage digging for information, and yet again, match making. I don't know why I do this, but it's always good fun.

I had three single lads, each giving their best answers to the question 'If you were a kitchen appliance, what would you be and why'? In the hope of winning over a single girl I picked from the audience. Amazingly, the lad who picked a washing machine didn't win.

Ian Moore who was closing, came out with a absolute pearler of a heckle put down on a girl who was being a bit of a nuisance in the audience. He said, 'You know...you remind me of one of them lava lamps, pretty to look at but not very bright'. I loved it.

I had the Friday night off (by choice) to watch the film, Harry Brown. What a great film. Had to patiently wait till all the soaps were finished before I could put it on though.

As soon as I pressed play, my little lad woke up crying, and it took two hours to settle him. It's like he just waited till Corrie had finished, or he heard Gail Platt's daft whinging voice and it scared him.

Saturday night, I compered a gig in Mellor, near Stockport. Getting there was a nightmare. For some reason my Sat Nav took me down a tiny road, which was more like a lunar landscape as the potholes were huge.

I was on this road for ages, before arriving at a dead end. Computers, you can't trust them. One day they'll take over the World. There's too many films based on it ie. The Matrix, Terminator, iRobot...Short Circuit.

Anyway, the gig was awesome & to be honest, very easy. I could have read the St.Helens Reporter to them and they'd have laughed...they actually might have done at the property pages. This lot were proper posh!

Greg Cook, Hayley Ellis and Graham Hey were all excellent. If only every night was like this.

Sunday night, was at the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton. They were the total opposite of the night before. Every laugh was like a small victory. It was like having to go to Barcelona to grab a couple of away goals to take back home.

There was a couple in their late 60's in the front row, who had met two years previously on the internet. It warms the heart, how people that age can still find love thanks to internet, instead of having to go B&Q.

I asked her if he looked like his profile picture or had he super imposed his head on Peter Andre's body, dancing under a waterfall to 'Mysterious Girl'. Thankfully, he didn't.

Thanks for reading, see you next week!
